There are slightly different lyrics to some kids songs here than in America. For example it's the eensy weensy spider and the wheels on the bus go round and round all day long instead of all through the town. But according to Silas "old lady Dong" has something to do with it. I wonder if that is any relation to Long Duck Dong.
My dad may not see Silas very often, but Dad has certainly instilled the importance of certain things to Silas. For instance plugging my mobile phone in and putting the baby monitor in the charger are very high priority items for Silas. Now if we could just get Silas to be as good about car maintenance we'd be all set.
The moment was fleeting where I thought my two and half year old son was a genius because he's recognizing letters and numbers. It's quickly turned to annoyance as we have to read everything now. The grocery trip this morning was excruciating. "Mom! This has eight cookies! Eight cookies! Look Mom! one! zero! zero! what's this? pacent? pacent! one zero zero pacent! Look Mama! F! R! E! E! What that say? F-R-E-E What means?"
And two trips to the potty in a 45 minute time frame. I mean, better than the alternative, right? But still two times digging through my bag to find a 20 cent piece to put the "trolley" in it's locker and get the key, two times waiting for the lift to go upstairs, two times wrestling with the car seat and wiggly two year old, two times washing hands and drying them on my pants because there are no towels.
At least Emmet slept through most of it.
