Orrin made me laugh so hard on the way home yesterday I thought my stomach might split open and the baby would be born by some creepy c-section in the car. It really hurt.
What he told me is that when he first started working at the medical device company where we both work, he acquired a lab notebook. This type of lab notebook is not just a spiral bound college rule notebook, but an actual document with a number where you can record official device testing that is used to support verification and validation activities and can be submitted to the FDA to support device safety and reliability claims. So it's a serious thing.
Well, when Orrin first started, he treated it like his own personal diary. Granted it was only the first page before he figured out that the lab notebook was not the place for this, but because it is a controlled official document he can't destroy or tear out the page where he has written "President's log: In this notebook I will record the everyday occurances of my job...."
Ok maybe it is not that funny, but it had been a long day at work, and the president's log just seemed so Star Trek inspired.
