1. A couple days ago Silas and I walked out to the duck pond. I can't say Silas really knew what we were doing throwing left over cheese biscuit crumbs to the ducks. But he seemed to enjoy watching the birds anyway. We also got to see an old man riding by on a horse.
2. We saw two other strange things on our walk. A dually pick-up truck. Not too strange until you realize in Ireland many of the roads are too narrow to successfully navigate two nissan micras past each other. And a sixty-ish year old woman in a purple sweatshirt, black skirt, stockins, orthopedic shoes, and purple hair. She was whitwashing a stone fence.
3. I learned that babies aren't circimsized in Ireland. You can't even get it done. Well, there is one hospital in Dublin that will do it, but who's gonna schlep their son up there? Then again, two of my american friend took their sons back to america tp have it done. Seems like a lot of trouble for something that seems pretty un-important. But then, my two basic tenets of motherhood are cheap and lazy.
4. We are totally unpacked! Or at least all the boxes are gone. We still have two rooms with mountains of clothing, camping equipment, craft supplies, and other junk.
5. Silas is afraid of electronic noises. Like the baby einstein turtle toy that announces, shapes! colors! animals! Terrifies him and he comes crawling to my lap.
